The entrance to the Viuduc des Arts: a former elevated freight rail line through Paris that has been turned into a garden. I visited it to see an example of adaptive re-use of an abandoned piece of urban infrastructure. No, seriously, that's why I went to see it! The Boston Globe mentioned it in an article talking about how to re-use the land reclaimed from the now-underground Central Artery in Boston (AKA the Big Dig). And, I find this stuff very interesting...
