Garden of the Gods. This is probably about 6:00AM. It's early November (Nov. 5, if I recall correctly) but its plenty chilly out; I was really glad I brought my heavy winter coat. (I was even happier about this once atop Pike's Peak!)

The early morning sun made for some truly dramatic lighting on the red rocks. My camera's not quite good enough to really pick up on all the subtleties... but it was really something! Also, being there so early, I was completely alone in this fantastic landscape. Very cool. Later on, at breakfast in a restaurant in Manitou Springs, I got to chatting with the locals. I told them how early I'd arrived at the Garden, and they all nodded appreciatively.

I really liked the little arch at the top of the rock formation.
